The winners are: Dawn for the mug and mywifesstudio for the yunomi. Contact me at williperri@aol.com with your name and address. Congrats! It was fun.
As promised, it's giveaway time again. I promised another piece out of this firing to the followers that leave a comment on this blog. And I enjoyed sharing so much that I also promised a teabowl to my friends at teachat.com.
Sooooo... here we go.
Become a follower of this blog and leave a comment or if you already are just leave the comment. If it's for the coffee mug, tell me what your favorite coffee is and/or when you enjoy it most. If you are a tea drinking enthusiast, leave a comment about your favorite kind of tea that you would enjoy in this yunomi.
In two weeks on the 23 of May around 6 PM EST, I will pull a name out of "each" hat and ship it to the winners, free of charge. :-DThe mug holds 12 oz. and the yunomi holds 5 oz.
Well now ya know Bill, I am a coffee drinker in the AM and a tea drinker in the PM. But I am partial to one particular brand and flavor of coffee but open to different teas. So I will throw out a coffee comment! There is a local market that is wonderful. I love everything about it, the color, the freshness, the diversity of product and customer. BUT THE BEST THING IS THEIR COFFEE! They roast their own and my husband and I only drink the Hazelnut - both regular and decaf. We love it strait up, hot and black! We set the pot on auto and oh the aroma in the morning!!!!:D
ReplyDeleteHey there Bill... Dresden from TeaChat here. As you can probably guess my comment is for the yunomi. I can just picture that yunomi filled with 2010 harvest Kagoshima Yutaka Midori shincha. There's nothing like a big mug full of rich murky-green fukamushi goodness. From O-Cha.com of course!
ReplyDeleteHey Bill,
ReplyDeleteIts AdamMY from teachat. In that Yunomi I could picture myself drinking a variety of black tea's. I picture it as a very natural clay cup which would behave wonderfully for western brewed black tea.
I'm like Pearl and Pebble. Coffee in the Am and Tea after lunch.
ReplyDeleteI love to have my coffee right about now, when I am awake before the rest of the household, and about to go unload my kiln :-)
I'm not a coffee drinker, but I have four wheel thrown mugs that are in constant rotation; if they're in the dishwasher I'll pull them out and wash them rather than use a plastic cup. I LOVE the glaze on that mug!
ReplyDeletethese are gorgeous! another coffee in the morning, tea at night person i am afraid... both pieces are gorgeous! the colors in the coffee mug are so beautiful... but i love the rustic nature of the teabowl... i am pretty particular about my tea - yogi green tea - rejuvenation or antioxidant... must use sugar in the raw and silk vanilla creamer... if any of the listed items are missing - it just isn't the same! very generous giveaway... your work is wonderful, so glad mary ann shared you!
ReplyDeleteGreetings from a fellow NY art teacher/potter. I have been enjoying your blog and love the pictures. I am a coffee drinker and split my time between mugs and yunomi so you can put my name in one hat or the other.
ReplyDeleteI am a coffee girl! My favorite is a thick earthy Ethiopian pot o' java first thing in the morning. Like I am having right now, LOL. Thank you for the chance to win one of your mugs!
ReplyDeleteHi there. I usually dring a cup of coffee in the morning and another one in the afternoon. In between and all evening I drink a lot of tea. I love your coffee mug! I drink any blend of Ethiopian or Kenyan coffee as long as it is black and strong.
ReplyDeleteBoth of these pieces are beautiful. But I especially like the yunomi. I have a special little soft spot for Japanese inspired design. A little confession, though. I find a yunomi perfect for two fingers of single malt with a splash of water :-)
ReplyDeleteFirst thing in the morning a HOT English Breakfast Tea with cafine!!!! Then I am ready for what ever comes my way! In the evening a nice cup of Whte Tea. Ahh, what a way to end a hectic day. I am enjoying your blog! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteTubbyCow from TeaChat here!
ReplyDeleteOf course the yunomi is my favourite of the two, and I would most often use the beauty alongside my Taiwan Dong Ding Oolong 5-ounce yixing. I can never get enough Dong Ding.
Bill, I'm loving the turquoise colored pieces you've been doing! They are very "oceanic!" I'm a tea drinker (geeber1 on TeaChat) but I can still imaging some great tea filling up that turquoise coffee mug!
ReplyDeleteI am a tea drinker and love oolongs. But I have to admit that I prefer mugs. So can I just say that I am confuddled.
ReplyDeleteI am a one coffee in the morning and green/black tea the rest of the day kind of girl. Large mugs for coffee and smaller daintier ones for tea and some times even tea in a cup with a spot of milk and sugar.
ReplyDeletellmeier99 from TeaChat here. Love that yunomi! I see some TKY oolong fitting nicely with it.
ReplyDeleteHi Bill! I'm a new follower to your blog. I came over from Mary Ann Carroll's blog. I love both of these beautiful pieces of pottery. I drink more coffee than tea, but I do drink both. I love Alterra Coffee as well as Berres Brothers (a WI coffee from near me).
ReplyDeleteI like Yogi teas, especially the detox teas. I have to clean the "unhealthy" coffee from my system some how! LOL
Look forward to seeing more of your designs! Hope you weekend is superb!

Hey Bill! I'm a coffee and a tea drinker but I want that mug, darn it! I may even drink some hot chocolate out of it - how about that?!
ReplyDeleteYour wife is so super awesome.
ReplyDeleteI know her from Etsy.
I also know Nancy of Round Rabbit who told me about your giveaway, and now here I am trying my hand at yet another giveaway. I think it's time to finally win, huh?! I think so. yes.
:)
Love the pieces! I am a coffee drinker and I drink it first thing in the morning. My utmost favorite brand is called Deadman's Reach from Raven's Brew in Alaska. I first had the coffee at a friends winery and I have been hooked ever since.
ReplyDeleteHello there fellow guild member. Sorry I missed the wood kiln firing...I was on vacation but I was and still am interested in the next public firing! I am a coffee drinker by heart and enjoy, of all things, Dunkin' Donuts coffee. I do happen to enjoy a nice hot cup of green tea...
ReplyDeleteWell Hello there fellow potter! While I am a lover of both coffee and tea, coffee is always my favorite. It is a must first thing and therefore my favorite in the morning in a handmade mug of course. My favorite coffee is Sumatra by Starbucks. It is an Earthy Herbal, x-bold flavor intense coffee. It is a great wake up and my favorite in the morning. I am wondering what yours is now?
ReplyDeleteHey Bill! been "following" you on TC for a while..now I can follow your blog too. I am a tea drinker (Japanese sencha's are my fav enoyed with the fam in the evenings)and so is my little girl and my wife. So while normally I would say throw me in for the Yunomi I have been looking for a large mug for the missus..she likes to brew big mugs of herbal teas ;) Nice wares Bill!
ReplyDeleteAny kind of coffee-- a mocha for something special and first thing in the morning. Special mugs just make it better.
ReplyDeleteBeth
I love the turquoise (my favorite color) in your mug! I drink fake coffee...Teecino because regular coffee upsets my GERD, but I usually sneak a pinch of real coffee into the batch for a little boost in the morning...shhh, our secret! Thanks for the great giveaway, I have been enjoying your blog, which I came across from your wife's site :)
